Pro-Poor Integrity Team & Partners

The Pro-Poor Integrity (PPI) team are based in Palestine and Kyrgyzstan.  They work closely with twenty-six civil society organisations (CSOs) and community-based organisations (CBOs) in Africa, Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Only a handful of countries are on track for meeting their Millennium Development Goal (MDGs) targets. Numerous countries are well behind. In some regions, notably sub-Saharan African, most countries will fail to meet any of the MDGs.

At the local level, many citizens and civil society organisations (CSOs) find it difficult to play their part to achieve the MDGs. Governance often fails to be responsive to the needs of the poor and most vulnerable. Communities often lack the capabilities to secure their rights, even when these are enshrined in law and budgetary allocations.

PPI work with local organisations to demonstrate the contribution of improvements in local and national governance to integrity in service delivery and the attainment of the MDGs. Read more about these organisations by clicking on the links below.
